Expansion of Frankfurt International Airport FRAPORT has a very long history: It started in the late 1970ties with „No Runway 180 West! And continued till today with „No Runway North-West“ and „No Terminal 3!“ Local citizens‘ initiatives are continously opposing airport expansion though not being successful in preventing the opening of Runway #4 „Runway North West“ in 2011. Continuing their Protest since then they demand night flight ban, massive reduction of aircraft traffic and renaturation of runway north west. They are cooperating with climate justice groups, and environmental NGOs.
